As part of our recent infrastructure update, any forms without SSL will now have SSL enabled. We recommend checking your form(s) for unsecured form files. If your forms have unsecured form elements, a mixed content warnings be displayed depending on your browser.

Mixed Content issues can cause form files like logo images, form images, theme background images and buttons images do display improperly. In cases where the form is not displaying, embedding the form again will be necessary. For more detailed tips on correcting issues, please see the information below.

What to do if the mixed content issue is reported by your browser?

If your browser reports a mixed content issue, it means that some of the custom theme files linked to your form are hosted on unsecured hosting sites.

Custom files are:

Please read the instructions below to find out how to replace the http:// hosted URLs of your custom files.

If you have embedded your form on your website, after you update your form files, you will need to re-embed your form with the new code on your website.

See this article on how to embed a form to your site: https://support.emailmeform.com/hc/en-us/articles/210121086-How-do-I-integrate-my-EmailMeForm-form-into-my-website-

What to do if logo, button image, or theme are not loading on your form?

This issue only happens when your logo, button image, or other theme files like background image or CSS file, are hosted on unsecured hosting sites with http:// connection.

When you turn on SSL Encryption, your form gets encrypted and its URL will look like this: https://************. All files used by a secure form must be served via a secure connection.

Update logo image

Your logo image is hosted on an unsecured hosting site and you used its unsecured http:// URL in your form’s theme to display the logo.

To correct this, you will need to update the logo image file that your form’s theme is using.

Our system will offer you three options to choose from:

  1. Enter URL — host your image on a hosting site and enter its URL
  2. Upload Image File — to EmailMeForm secured servers
  3. Choose from Existing Images — those that you’ve already uploaded

Recommended Option: Upload Image File

The easiest option to update your logo image is Upload Image File, in which case you will upload your logo image directly to our cloud storage which is secured and you need not worry about the mixed content issue.

  1. To do this, you will access your form’s theme as shown below:1-theme.gif

Click on the form to see which theme is used > Go to Theme Builder from the upper left main menu > Choose to Edit Existing Theme > Select the theme

  1. Enter Logo and choose the Upload Image File option.

Logo > Choose Your Logo > Change Custom Logo and the module above will show up

Just choose the image file of your company’s logo and upload it to EmailMeForm. Don’t forget to save your theme and preview your form.

Your Current Option: Enter URL

However, if you wish to keep using the Enter URL option (your current choice), the first thing you need to do is upload your image to a secured photo hosting site. Here you can find the list of free photo sharing sites that are secured.

When you upload your logo image to a secured hosting site, its link will become https:// which indicates that it has a secure connection to your form.

Now that you have the correct link, you need to update your logo image link in your form’s theme.

  1. Enter Logo and update the logo image link.

Copy the new secured https link you’ve got and paste it in the box:

Logo > Your Logo > Change Custom Logo > Enter URL

Update button image

If your form uses custom button image and the button changed after you had turned on SSL, it means that you need to update your button image. Please repeat the same procedure as for logo image that we have explained above.

You can choose to Upload Image File in which case you will upload your button image directly to EmailMeForm. This is a more comfortable option so we recommend that you opt for it.

If your choice is to go ahead with Enter URL option you used before, you will need to upload your button image to a secured file sharing website and paste its new https:// URL to your theme.

  • To do this, access your form’s theme as shown below:

1-theme.gif

Click on the form to see which theme is used > Go to Theme Builder from the upper left main menu > Choose to Edit Existing Theme > Select the theme

  • Enter Buttons and Change Button Image.

 3-button.gif

Buttons > Change Button Image > Enter URL

Update background image

If your form uses Custom Pattern (image) for its background and it is not loading properly after you have turned on SSL, you will need to update your custom pattern image.

Repeat the same procedure as explained in the logo section above.

  • First, access your form’s theme as shown below:

1-theme.gif

Click on the form to see which theme is used > Go to Theme Builder from the upper left main menu > Choose to Edit Existing Theme > Select the theme

  • Enter Backgrounds, choose Wallpaper, and then Custom Pattern.

Backgrounds > Wallpaper > Custom Pattern > Enter URL

What to do if CSS is not loading?

You or someone in your team had created a custom design for your form and linked the CSS file to your form’s theme.

The issue with CSS not loading only happens when your CSS file is hosted on unsecured file hosting sites (served via http:// connection).

You will need to upload your form’s CSS file to a secured hosting site and then link to it again in the Theme Builder. Here is the list of free hosting sites where you can store your CSS file securely.

After you have uploaded your CSS file there, you will need to:

  • Access your form’s theme

What to do if the image file inside the form is not loading?

Your form has an image field which uses the image hosted on unsecured hosting site with http:// connection.

To correct this, you will need to update your image and you can choose between 3 given options:

Enter URL — host your image on a hosting site and enter its link

Upload Image File — to EmailMeForm secure server

Choose from Existing Images — those that you’ve already uploaded

We recommend the Upload Image File option since it allows you to simply upload your image to our secured servers. This is the easiest option for you.

If you choose to stick to your current option used (Enter URL) — the first thing you should do is upload your image to a secured server. When you do this, you will get the URL link to your image. A secure image URL will look like this: https://************.

Here are some of the secured free hosting sites which you can upload your images to.

Now that you have the new https:// URL of your image, go to edit your form and click on the image field.

Edit form > Double click on the image field

  • Enter the new https URL of your image.
